In July, PopSugar was inspired by beach days, easy travel, summer heat, Fourth of July, and stripes. It was clear that this box was perfect for summer – particularly, a beach vacation. Unfortunately, the box came while I was on vacation, so I wasn’t able to take these items with me! Here’s what the box looked like upon opening:

I really didn’t need another cosmetic case, so I wasn’t that excited about this one. It’s small, but the quality is better than I expected. It’s more structured than the typical cosmetic case and holds it’s shape when it unzips. I require a larger bag for traveling (I use this one by Samudra), but this case would actually be great for my jewelry. For now, I’ll keep it in my gym bag, so that I can locate my stuff easily, rather than have everything fall to the bottom of the bag.
This product reminds me of a time that my father-in-law learned of Evian water spray. He thought it was ridiculous that anyone would pay money to spritz themselves with water. For days, he would mention the absurdity of such a product to anyone he came across. I am not sure exactly what the above product does that you can’t get from your sunscreen (which everyone should apply daily!!) That said, I love Supergoop! products so I will be trying this out.
This card case feels super cheap to me. I’d be really disappointed if I paid $28 for it. Perhaps I will use this the next time I go to the beach to store my license, a credit card, and a small amount of cash. Or I will re-gift it.
You know you’re officially an adult when you’re actually really excited to receive a toothbrush. I was reminded of the scene in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt where Kimmy is disappointed to receive designer clothes for her birthday and was hoping for something “fun” instead. (If you haven’t seen the show yet, do so now. It’s pretty much perfect.)
For a toothbrush, it’s actually pretty cool. It comes in a sleek case that you could easily throw in your purse to take to work/the gym. I love that it comes with a battery, as well as a replacement brush head. It also seems to work really well. Combined with the Water Pik I recently began using, I feel like I’m at the dentist everyday now. (Note: This is a good thing. I never fully understood the fear of the dentist. Now the eye doctor, on the other hand: Terrifying.)
I’ve heard great things about this brand, so was excited to try these. I usually carry these wipes from Skyn Iceland in my gym bag, but it’s great to have a cheaper alternative.
I actually received this box weeks ago, but still haven’t got around to trying this yet. It doesn’t look all that good to me.
Another “grown-up” item. To truly be an adult, one must have greeting cards at the ready so that you’re not scrambling to pick one up before a friend’s birthday (or asking your 3-year old to make a card for the person, as if that’s what you intended to do all along.) These cards are cute and I will definitely use them.
With PopSugar, as long as I really like at least two items, I feel like I am getting value for my money. I love the toothbrush, wipes, and cards so i’m pretty happy with this box. Not the best one, but not the worst one either.
One complaint though: PopSugar published two spoilers for this box through email to its subscribers. Although I occasionally sneak a peek at the spoilers on my own, I’m always happier when I don’t. I therefore didn’t like that I already knew two of the items before my box even shipped. In August, I will try to avoid all spoilers so that I will be truly surprised.
