Citrus Lane June 2015 Review (Age 3; Gender Neutral)
June’s box is focused on summer. It contained five items: Four for my daughter and one for me.
Retail Value of Items
I apparently forgot to take a picture of all the items once I removed them from the box. Therefore, I only have a picture of the box when I first opened it. Here are pictures of the card:
The box includes (Note: Citrus Lane does not provide retail prices):
- Fun Flyer from Stephen Joseph (Retail Price: $6.95)
- Beach House from Chronicle Books (Retail Price: $12.67)
- Wallet Cards from So Awesome (Retail Price for similar: $9.99)
- Hello Book from Hello Hanna (Retail Price: $9.95)
- Lip Comfort from PurLisse (Retail Price: $10.95)
Total Retail Value of Box: $50.51
This is a pretty good value, although none of the items were stand-out items for me.
This is a really cute idea. It allows your child to create their own story using stickers. I would have loved this as a kid. (I even took a class at the local community college about writing and illustrating books when I was a preteen.) The only issue I have is that, at 3, my daughter is still a bit too young for it. I’ll store it until she’s a bit older and then bring it out again. I am, however, glad that I chose the gender-neutral box so she didn’t get the princess version instead! A story about robots is more likely to encourage that STEM career!
This is a Frisbee-esque toy to play with outside. We have been working on catching with my daughter, so this will be a fun way to encourage her development. I’m pretty sure my dog is going to think this is his, however…
I’m not really a fan of this lip gloss. It’s a bit too sticky for me and I prefer Chapstick-type glosses that are super easy to put on while on the go.
These cards are cute, but not really age appropriate. My daughter has known her shapes/colors for over a year, and I think most 3 year olds are pretty good with them. I will, however, use this with my 16 month old son.
Beach House from Chronicle Books
I love books and both of my kids love books. So, we are always happy to receive a book. We also extremely fortunate to have a second home on the water, so this book about a family’s beach house was perfect.
There wasn’t a stand-out toy for me in this box, but I continue to love my monthly Citrus Lane boxes. I appreciate being introduced to new brands, like So Awesome and I love that the toys are all well-made and from boutique brands.
