Every so often, Citrus Lane makes “mystery boxes” available. They tell you one of the items in the box, the recommended age, and the recommended gender, but everything else is a surprise. Because I only order Citrus Lane for my daughter, I decided to order a mystery box for my son. This was my first time ordering a mystery box, so I was interested to see if it was worth the money. This particular one cost $29.

Kid O Mini Tugboat and Kid O Mini Air Plane
These are cute little bath toys. According to the manufacturer, their small size promotes fine motor skills. They look and feel like they are of slightly higher quality than some other bath toys, so I’m pleased. I’m also glad they sent two because these were a hit with both my kids in the bath!
My Big Book of Trucks & Diggers
This book includes pictures of various trucks and diggers along with their names. I’m not usually a fan of books without stories, but I don’t know any of the names of these machines, so it will be good to learn them for when my son inevitably becomes obsessed with them!
Skip Hop Zoo Straw Bottle in Shark
I am so glad that I got the shark version of this cup, because I have a weird obsession with sharks. We have the shark bib from Skip Hop, but, surprisingly, do not have this cup. Now that my son is drinking out of a straw, this can be one of “his” cups.
Melissa & Doug Rainbow Stacker
I almost gave this to my nephew because I didn’t think my son would be that interested in it. I’m glad I didn’t because this was a major hit. He sat and played with it on and off for an entire morning!
Melissa & Doug Barnyard Animal Jumbo Knob Puzzle
I love Melissa & Doug puzzles. Unfortunately for us, we have a bit too many. (I live in a rowhouse. There are only so many toys that will fit, despite the fact that we have this great puzzle rack!) This one will be a present for my new nephew. He will love it!
Oogaa Silicon Placemat
I’ve never been big on carrying placemats with me for the kids. Perhaps I should be more germ conscious, but both of my kids rarely get sick, so I feel like they are building their immunity. I really like this placemat though. It can easily roll-up to fit in a purse, it’s a good size, and it seems durable.
Stephen Joseph Bath Mitt in Dino
Somehow we are constantly running out of washcloths (despite the fact that we have a ton), so I always welcome another one. This one is cute and guaranteed to make my son laugh.
I am a huge fan of the mystery box! It’s pretty awesome to get $60 worth of product for only $30. I recently ordered some additional mystery boxes, so I’ll post a review of these when I receive them.
