I’ve always gravitated towards more “ladylike” clothes. My mom says that I insisted on wearing a dress to school every day until third grade. Even now, it’s very rare for me to wear anything but skirts and dresses. That’s why I love that the midi skirt has become a thing. I’m inspired by all the street style pics of women wearing beautiful midi skirts with perfectly styled hair, heels, and a bold lip. So I went in search of the perfect midi skirt for me:
First up is the high-waisted version from Reiss. I’ve found that high-waisted items flatter my figure, so I have high hopes for this skirt. I love that it’s a classic silhouette but the belt adds a modern touch. Plus, it’s on sale! I’ll be pairing it with this Carolina Herrera tank that I purchased several years ago from Gilt. I also like this navy skirt from Reiss.
I also love this skirt from Banana Republic. As long as it’s not see-through (which shouldn’t be too much to ask, but sometimes it apparently is), I will get a lot of wear out of it this summer.
If you’re looking for more of a date-night skirt than a work skirt, I like this one. Usually red lace comes off as way too “I shouldn’t be wearing this in public,” but this one is tasteful.
Finally, my love of patterns is satisfied by this version from Kate Spade.
Who’s with me in wearing midi skirts all summer long?
